Opera In Italy
Opera is a unique musical form of art that has been at the top of the musical preferences of people all around Europe for centuries. Born in Italy, its magic spread all around the continent in a very short amount of time. Soon, great venues were built everywhere specifically designed for this kind of performance. Besides, such a spectacle is very demanding when it comes to the technical prerequisites that must be satisfied, especially the acoustics and the architectural structure that are concerned. Some of the most well known opera venues can be found in Italy. A great example is the Puccini Festival, which is held in July and August, in the area of Torre del Lago Puccini.The particular place used to be the home of the composer Giacomo Puccini. The amazing venue has a wonderful new outdoor arena which is located in a beautiful scenery overlooking the lake.The Teatro dell'opera di Roma is a beautiful opera house where many classical dance concerts and opera performances are held every year. In summer, one can watch opera and dance performances that take place in the ancient Baths of Caracalla, a majestic setting for enjoying opera under the stars. Moreover, the Teatro Regio in Turin has another famous opera house in Piazza Castello. Even though it suffered a complete destruction in the beginning of the century, it was still reconstructed and it is currently open to the public.
